Chiltern Teaching School Hub

Primary First

Primary first is a professional development programme designed to meet the wide variety
of needs in staff development within primary school settings. The professional development
programme is thematic with spaced delivery over the academic year to help support
schools develop staff in a focused and manageable manner. The programme is born out of
the success that Luton First Teaching School Alliance had within Luton primaries at
delivering high-quality sustainable CPD. Building on the success and high levels of
engagement Chiltern Teaching School is supporting the scaling up of this offer in
order to support a wider network of schools from within Milton Keynes, Bedfordshire, East & North
Hertfordshire.

Each CPD session is carefully considered, designed and delivered by practising experts
who have shown exemplary standards within the respective themes.

Schools have the freedom to engage with as much or as little as they need and want to with
appreciation that schools and their staff are on different journeys.

In order to support schools with planning their professional development all sessions will
be hosted at the same time and on the same day each week, Thursday at 4 pm. Sessions
will be delivered in a hybrid manner with some sessions being delivered in person and
simultaneously streamed to enable wider access.
